TruBody body contouring targets fat reduction and muscle building. For muscle strengthening, patients can feel an improvement in power and performance. Muscles appear bigger and more defined. To achieve good results, most patients require 4-6 treatments to reach their body remodeling goals depending on what these goals are. For the areas targeted for fat reduction, patients can see a gradual slimming effect as fat cells are destroyed and naturally flushed out of the body. New collagen develops gradually as well to tighten and firm the skin on the area. Fat loss results depend on the amount of fat you had before the treatment. Clinical studies found an average of 24% loss of fat after one treatment. Additional fat treatments can be done after 12 weeks, if needed.

Noticeable results are seen after a single TruBody treatment. Maximum fat reduction is seen after 12 weeks, and muscle gain is most noticeable 4 to 16 weeks post-treatment.

TruBody body contouring is a personalized treatment and therefore is a great option for most people. It is effective and versatile and can treat patients that aren’t candidates for other contouring procedures due to treatment location, skin type, fat thickness and presence of skin laxity.

The muscle building attribute of the treatment can serve other purposes than aesthetic. Men and women in rehabilitation after an injury or surgery who are trying to recover their muscular integrity and improve their function or simply to avoid detrimental muscle atrophy can do so via TruSculpt Flex. Finally, those who have lost muscle mass from age or from deconditioning can gain back muscle mass this way.

truBody can treat most adults, however, non-invasive fat reduction or muscle strengthening is not a weight loss solution for severely overweight people. However, it can still achieve great results nonetheless if combined with a weight loss program along with an exercise program.

truBody has multiple handpieces that allow for many unique placements to target different locations simultaneously. Your skin will be cleansed before the procedure. For truSculpt, radio frequency waves are released for 15 minutes through 6 handpieces. This will feel warm, since the radio frequency energy is being absorbed as heat energy by the fat cells to melt the fat. Your skin temperature will rise but will remain comfortable. After the treatment is complete, the targeted area will be warm and flushed for under an hour, and you may have mild sensitivity to the touch for a few days. However, you will be able to immediately return to normal activities and exercise after leaving the clinic.

As for the truFlex, patients experience a sensation of real contraction in the targeted muscles. It generally remains comfortable, but the feeling can be intensified for more extreme results depending on what the patient wants. The goal is to have the highest intensity tolerated with minimal to moderate discomfort. Similar to truSculpt, truFlex has 16 handpieces for simultaneous treatment of up to 8 muscle areas. Like truSculpt, there is no recovery time needed for this non-invasive procedure. Though rare, patients may feel tingling in the treated areas for a few hours, and/or mild muscle soreness or tenderness for 24-72 hours.

Cutera, the manufacturer of truFlex and truSculpt, describes the treatment as being like “a hot stone massage”. Some redness and sensitivity post-treatment is possible, but you may return to your everyday activities immediately after you leave the office, including exercise. If you have preexisting health conditions, or are using something like a pacemaker, truSculpt may not be safe for you.

Contraindications to the truFlex include cardiac pacemaker, known myocardial arrhythmia, swollen, infected, or inflamed skin, or active cancer. Additionally, patients are excluded if they have any metal implant in the area to be treated; skin abnormality; history of seizure disorder or epilepsy, or pregnancy.
